Thank you, Sherwin Williams, for adding "green" color to our walls

One of the goals of this home improvement challenge is to "Keep it green"- meaning to take the environment into consideration when making design choices. One of the best ways to reduce environmental impact is to specify low-VOC paint.
Thanks to our friends at Sherwin Williams, we will be using their Pro-Green line of paint which is low in VOC's and odor. Not only is this better for the environment, but it is also healthier for the occupants.

More Before and After Photos!

2008 LifeWorks HIC Before and After

Ruben, Jeana, and Laelene were very excited about their apartment overhaul! Their reaction was worth it all!

2008 LifeWorks HIC Clients

Last Year our client was a young couple with an infant daughter. Jeana's father was a drinker , and her mother battled depression and hardly ever had any food in the fridge. Ruben was homeless staying with Jeana's family most of the time. When they found out they were pregnant they left her parent's house and desperately wanted to find a place of their own away from the yelling, drinking, smoking, and people taking their food. Ruben and Jeana were referred to LifeWorks by their Teen Parent Councelor at San Marcus High School and applied for LifeWorks supportive housing and were accepted with no waiting period. Shortly thereafter their daughter, Laelene, was born. We met them when Laelene was 6 months old, and our job was to help provide them all the necessities they needed on a daily basis so they could concentrate on their education, jobs, and raising their beautiful daughter. Of course, through generous donations and a lot of hard work, we were able to give them a lot more!
